Retro sci-fi industrial chic – scavengers from the future have stumbled across a treasure trove of objects from the distant past and built an improvised shrine / playground of this assembled bric-a-brac. Laterally-cycled trinkets and industrial metalwork sit alongside intricate anatomical delicacies – creating a jarring yet nauseatingly humerous viscerality. Performers take their place among the grid; pulsing and weaving through sound and movement - some carry talismans, and all participate in this esoteric ritual - trancending the physcial via the digital to a place beyond. This is Rehearsal – devised as a speculative future-femme narrative by artist Natalia Janula. Realising for the first time an installation piece of this scale which encompasses both live performance alongside her unique material/ sculptural vocabulary.
