Ferment
Girls can cause ferment in many ways. When they are little it comes to them quite easily. You could even say that it is related to a certain non- chalance typical of their age. Little girls know that ferment is best spread with the body: by gestur- ing too quickly, exces- sively stamping one’s feet, but also by scream- ing, squealing, smack- ing and gnashing teeth. When the girls become older, everything, and the whole world, begins to become even more complicated and mixed with “it is appropriate” and “it is not appropri- ate”, “don’t do this” and “do this”. Adulthood seems to endure and cover up pain, disap- pointment and fear. It is like a medical procedure that results from the need to harden, anes- thetize, but also protect against too strong feel- ings... against ferment.
